It is Surprising to see very few manufacturers cater to the needs of users who have smaller form factor casings in possession, though in reality, building a gaming system does not exactly equate to having a smaller chassis in the first place. Irrespective of that, MSI has unveiled its GTX 1050 Ti in a low-profile form factor in order to accommodate users currently in possession of smaller computer casings. There are a ton of differences between the reference design and this one, so let’s dig right in.
GTX 1050 Ti 4GB LP GPU Sports a Half-Height PCB and a Thoroughly Improved Cooling Solution for Smaller Casings
The interesting thing about the GTX 1050 Ti 4GB LP GPU is that despite its smaller size, MSI has decided to incorporate a dual-slot cooling solution. Before purchasing the card, however, make sure that your chassis has sufficient space otherwise you will run into space compatibility issues. For smaller casings, airflow is limited compared to the larger casings, and with larger casings comes the added benefit of having several cutouts to accommodate a slew of case fans. Smaller casings do not come with this advantage, which is why it was prudent thinking on MSI’s part for choosing a better cooling solution.
However, as commendable as this approach is, we’d honestly like to see higher tier cards sport the same form factor for those smaller percentage of consumers. The GTX 1050 Ti 4GB LP is 18.2cm in length and includes both standard and low-profile I/O shields. Power delivery will be dependent on the PCIe slot, eliminating the element of additional cable cluttering.
The I/O panel of the MSI GTX 1050 Ti 4GT LP features a single DVI port, single HDMI 2.0 port and one DisplayPort 1.4. If you want to take a look at the detailed specifications of the low-profile GPU concerning the clock speeds and other values, they have been listed below:

Even a small hint would have mattered a great deal for consumers, but we guess we will have to wait a little longer for such information to be revealed.
